VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

Ramona Pony Baseball is legally mandated to have all volunteers who are 18 years or older complete certain requirements before participating in the league. California Youth Protection Law (AB-506) requires youth volunteers to get a fingerprint-based Live Scan background check through Ramona Pony Baseball, and complete a Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training online course. A volunteer only needs to have Live Scan performed once unless the individual leaves the league for a period of greater than one year. 

  • Managers

    Annual Requirements

    Note: If you previously were LiveScanned for Ramona Pony Baseball, you will only need to complete this again if you leave the league for a period of greater than one year. 

    • LiveScan - Location provided by Ramona Pony. Ramona Pony Covers the cost (1st time only)
    • Background Check - JDP Email will be sent to recipient - required annually
    • Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training – required annually
    • Abuse Awareness – Recertification required annually - note if you take Coach "A" Certificate you do not need to do this separate as it is part of the "A" cert training.
    • USA Baseball Coach “A” Certificate – required annually (renew if expired) - Login or Create an account - Choose PONY as your organization -Click on “Education” -Click on “Certifications

    Every 2 Years

    • CPR Certification - Red Cross training – in person and online offerings - 
    • Concussion Protocol - Recertification 

  • Assistant Coach / Dugout Parent
